Which level/ grade class is right for my child?
Students are put into the correct class level that we expect them to be working at for their age. Then they are moved accordingly to skill. We are strong believers in dancers never being held back due to age. Below are some guidelines.
Little Stars - 2-3 years
Mini Classes - 4-6 years
Junior Classes - 7-11 years
Inter Classes - 11-14 years
Senior classes - 14 years +
Graded Classes
Prep - 4-5 years
Primary - 5-6 years
Grade 1 - 7-8 years
Grade 2 - 8-9 years
Grade 3 - 9-10 years
Grade 4 - 11-12 years
Grade 5 - 12-13 years
Vocationals - 14+ years
Acro levels
Primary Acro - 4-5 years
Level 1 Acro 6-7 years
Level 2 Acro 8-9 years
Level 3 Acro - 10-11 years
Level 4 Acro - 11-12 years
Level 5+ Acro 13+ years
Students can begin with us at any age. Older students are put into a class with other dancers of a similar age.
Supporting SEN (special educational needs) children.
Our classes are inclusive to everyone and we have many children who have specific needs and we work with the dancer and parents to enable the child to enjoy the class and gain valuable skills. At present we do not have any separate classes for dancers with special educational needs, however if we ever receive any interest in this we would love to offer this in the day time.
A few examples of our experience below; We teach/ have taught children with the following; neurodivergent, anxiety, ADHD, speech and language delay, medical conditions that affect movement or strength, GDD, hearing impairments and autism.
Teachers undergo training in dealing with children who may need extra support and we have measures (such as our student class assistants) available who are able to help and support the teacher and class to enable an engaging and steady flow of class work.
